Severance Pay Ceiling Set at TRY 73,729.87 for 1 July – 31 December 2026

Following the increase in the civil servant salary coefficient effective from 01.07.2026, the severance pay ceiling applicable for 01.07.2026 – 31.12.2026 has been set at TRY 73,729.87 for each year of service.

1. Severance pay ceilings for 2026

The new ceiling is an increase of about 13.52% on the first half of the year.

2. Calculation example

For an employee with a gross monthly pay (including benefits) of TRY 90,000 whose employment contract ends in September 2026 after 8 years and 3 months of service:

3. Reminder

  • The ceiling that applies is the one in force on the date the employment contract ends.
  • Severance pay within the legal limits is exempt from income tax and not subject to SGK premiums; stamp duty is deducted.
  • Severance pay provisions in the 2026 year-end financial statements must be calculated using the new ceiling.
